2014 Chairman Challenge Contest:

JANUARY 1, 2014-DECEMBER 31, 2014

The Challenge: 

  • All NECA Chapters and Members encouraged to host Congressional visits at a member’s place of business, jobsite, or, NECA Chapter office.
  • The chapter who has the most visits by 12/31/14 wins the Chairman’s Challenge.

The Incentive: 

  • Bonus participation points to your contributor total for each Congressional visit.
  • Designed to help Chapters meet 50 percent member participation for their 2014 ECPAC goal

The Prize:

One free attendee registration for the 2015 NECA Legislative Conference and a special award to be presented at the conference.

    Northern California Chapter Meets with Rep. Mike Thompson

    Members of NECA’s Northern California Chapter met with Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA) to discuss pension reform and NECA’s support of the “Solutions not Bailouts” proposal. Northern California Chapter’s Executive Director Greg Armstrong and Jess Zuniga of Zeco Electric detailed NECA’s pension plans in California and the impact that inaction on pension reform would have on those plans.     West Virginia-Ohio Valley Chapter Celebrates Capito Victory

    West Virginia-Ohio Valley Chapter Executive Steve Allred (left) and James Bane of Mon Valley Electric (right) celebrated with Senator-Elect Shelley Moore Capito (R) on election night. Capito defeated Democrat Natalie Tennant in the Senate race in West Virginia with 62 percent of the vote.

    Chairman’s Challenge: The Central Indiana Chapter Meets Rep. Todd Rokita

    On October 28, Rep. Todd Rokita (R-IN) visited with members of the Central Indiana chapter and toured ERMCO’s facility. He spoke with several of the employees and learned about different aspects of the company. NECA Members Darrell Gossett, President of ERMCO, Inc.  and David Peterson, Senior Vice President of ERMCO, Inc. discussed the Transitional Reinsurance Program and pension reform with Rep.     Chairman’s Challenge: Augusta Chapter Hosts Rick Allen

    On August 28, members of the Augusta Chapter hosted an event for the Republican candidate in Georgias 12th district, Rick Allen. He is a long-time friend of the construction industry and owns his own construction company, and has had the support of NECA since his last Congressional race in 2012.  This is one of the most competitive races in the nation against Rep.
