homes. Permitting, inspection and insurance/liability issues are the primary reason for this; also, most homeowners don’t have the necessary training to ensure safe electrical installations.

Many electrical contractors and electricians are trained through the industry apprenticeship program that combines classroom and hands-on training. Apprentices earn wages and benefits for every hour they work on the job and can earn college credit for their training.
