NECA Legislative Top Story 11/6/20: 2020 Election Update

Nov 06, 2020

Election Results Pending

Over the past week, NECA Government Affairs has been closely following all election totals and results. As of the drafting of this article, much remains to be determined. The Presidential Election still too close to call and we anticipate further delays in the calling of the election results as legal challenges are weighed. In addition, control of the Senate now boils down to Senate runoff races in Georgia where winners will not likely be decided until January, as no leading candidate received the 50 percent of votes needed to avoid a runoff. The House of Representatives remains in Democratic control but much like the Senate, it has seen the margin of one-party control eroded away.

Many of NECA’s legislative champions have won re-election and we look forward to working with all members of Congress, both incumbent and incoming. Regardless of the final result in the Presidential election, we at NECA Government Affairs are well-positioned and will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that our industry’s needs will be met so our contractors can have work in a business climate that affords them greater success.
