Awards and Recognition

Award Winners Recognized

Each year, NECA presents the following awards to members of the Association and the industry in recognition of their outstanding contributions, (unless otherwise indicated) industry leaders are recognized at the NECA annual convention and trade show. The Coggeshall Award

The Coggeshall Award recognizes a NECA-member contractor adjudged to have made an outstanding contribution to the electrical contracting industry in technical or training activities. This award was established in 1956 as a result of a bequest to the association by Allan Coggeshall to honor a member of NECA who is adjudged to have made an outstanding contribution to the progress of the industry in the technical and training service field.

The Comstock Award

The Comstock Award, which was established by the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA)’s Board of Governors in 1959 in memory of industry pioneer L.K. Comstock, is the association’s highest honor recognizing contributions in the complex field of labor relations.

The McGraw Award

This award was established in 1926 by the McGraw Committee of Awards and is presented to a person from the electrical contracting industry who is adjudged to have made a contribution to the industry of some new and useful idea or to have performed an industry service over and above his/her normal responsibilities to his/her own or company's progress.

Robert L. Higgins Association Executive Distinguished Service Award

Established in l989 by NECA's Board of Governors, the Association Executive Distinguished Service Award The award is to be presented to the staff executive or chapter manager who has made the greatest contribution to the advancement of the association either in a specific year or over a period of time.

The Membership Recruitment and Retention Award

The Membership Recruitment and Retention Award was established in 1988 by NECA's national staff to recognize the chapter manager who has done the best job of recruiting eligible members while retaining the existing members during the previous calendar year.

The Wendt Award

The Wendt Award is the highest form of tribute bestowed annually by ELECTRI International–The Foundation for Electrical Construction, Inc. The Award is named in honor of the philosophical and financial commitments made to the electrical contracting industry by one of its premier members, Albert G. Wendt, president of Cannon & Wendt Electric in Phoenix, Arizona. The Award recognizes exemplary leadership and service to the electrical industry.

Industry Partner Award

Established in 1996, the NECA Industry Partner Award recognizes organizations or individuals that, though not members of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), contribute to the electrical contracting industry’s success through their decisions, actions, or cooperation with NECA.

Recognition of Safety Achievement Program

NECA's safety achievement recognition program includes two categories, Safety Excellence, and Zero-Injury. The Zero-Injury category recognizes those member-companies that have worked a full calendar year without recordable incidents. The Achievement of Safety Excellence is the associations premier recognition program, and acknowledges member-contractors safety performance. Student Chapter of the Year Award

NECA created the Student Chapter of the Year awards program to recognize and reward outstanding NECA Student Chapters. Award winners are chapters that consistently promote student activities that provide industry exposure and facilitate interaction between member contractors and students.

NECA Project Excellence Award

In an effort to showcase the exceptional work being performed by its member-contractors throughout the country, the National Electrical Contractors Association has launched the Project Excellence Award, a new award program that will recognize companies for their outstanding commitment, professionalism and ingenuity in delivering an electrical project across 11 different market sectors.
